(For the past three years, I’ve used Reverb10 prompts for every day of December. It’s a great way to reflect on the year and set goals for the future. I’m not the only one who has held on to a project from 2010. This year I signed up for prompts from Project Reverb.)
FAIL. What just didn’t work out this year? Is that okay with you? Or are you going to try, try again?
Good lord. The garden. Again.
I went ahead and bought more planters for the front deck, but more planters didn’t make me a better or more diligent gardener. There was a brief moment in the summer when I had given up but not completely and filled every planter with flowers. It was green and lovely. And doomed.
Also, with a gas leak in the complex, the back garden got torn up and was doomed too. It hurts to look at.
I will try, try, try again. I refuse to give up. But I go into this next effort knowing that I am not skilled at this. I will, perhaps, lower my expectations. That might just be the key to some sort of success.
